Ryan E. Stearns is the Co-Founder of U Do It Legal and Managing Partner of its sister law firm, Stearns & Ryan, Lawyers. A certified specialist in family law by the State Bar of California, Ryan has spent his career representing clients in complex family and civil litigation throughout Southern California.

Practicing at the intersection of law and technology, Ryan recognized a fundamental inequity in the legal system: the people who need it most are often the least able to navigate it. At Stearns & Ryan, he upheld a longstanding commitment to serving a diverse clientele — but saw firsthand the profound gap between legal need and legal access.

Alongside co-founder Kelly Crabtree, Ryan envisioned and built U Do It Legal as a response to that gap. UDIL empowers self-represented Californians to prepare their own court paperwork through guided software — making the legal process navigable without the cost of full attorney representation.

Ryan brings deep expertise in domestic violence restraining orders, divorce and dissolution, child custody, and civil litigation to UDIL's product development and attorney review services.
